Dark Circle Treatment & #PrayForJapan

I have the worst dark circles ever!! No matter how much sleep I get, they are always there. It really bothers me! I've adopted this routine at night to try and combat those little buggers. So far, I've seen some improvement but not yet a miracle. It has lightened my dark circles, but it hasn't vanished them completely.

After washing my face with my acne treatment, I use Shiseido's White Lucent Brightening Balancing Softener Enriched.
Product Description: A brightening softening lotion that immediately hydrates skin for an optimally moisturized, luminous complexion. Enhances the benefits of following skincare. A light, softening lotion, reformulated to hydrate skin for a dewy, radiant and even-toned look. Newly formulated with m-Tranexamic Acid to prevent dark spots. Super Hydro-Synergy Complex, composed of Hydro-Wrap Vitalizing DE plus Bio-Hyaluronic Acid, intensely hydrates to give skin a dewy, radiant, and even-toned look. Erythritol, Apricot Extracts, and Super Hydro-Synergy Complex normalize cell turnover to retexturize skin.

Directions: Saturate a cotton pad and wipe gently over face after cleanser.

This was the first Shiseido product I've ever tried. I'm really impressed, I noticed a difference a couple of weeks after I started using it. It helped even out my skin tone, which was one of my goals. Of course, I'm sure it would be so much more effective if used with the entire White Lucent line, but I don't have the money for that and for now I'll test each product separately. Trust me, If I could, I would purchase the entire system!

Next, I apply Pond's Dark Spot Correcting Moisturizer, which you have seen in a previous post. I promised a review on it, so here it is :] I purchased it from Target.

Product Description: This cream evens skin tone in 2 weeks and reduces the appearance of dark spots in 4 weeks. Dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, won't clog pores.

Directions: Apply daily to face and neck. For best results, apply during the morning (as a base for make-up) and at night.

It has been over two weeks since I began using it. I like it and I don't have many complaints for it. I didn't notice improvements right away. I like how it isn't too heavy, it smells clean and fresh, and it wasn't too pricey. Honestly, if you want to see miraculous results pronto, I would try a different product but personally I am satisfied.

Lastly, I use Vitamin E oil. I have a bottle of softgel capsules. Not only do I take a pill every day, but I also use a toothpick and squeeze the oil out to dab under my eyes.

Product Description: As a powerful antioxidant, Vitamin E helps fight cell damaging free radicals in the body. Free radicals can contribute to oxidative stress, which in turn may contribute to premature aging of cells. In addition, Vitamin E is known to promote immune function.

Directions: For adults, take one softgel daily, preferably with a meal.

I loooove vitamin e. I've always been an avid user. It can gradually fade scars and prevents wrinkles. Taking it as a dietary supplement will also help to improve the quality of hair, nails and
skin.

As I said before, this process has improved my skin but not entirely. I feel that all three of these products has contributed. Does anyone have any other brightening products they recommend? I'm still on the search for the perfect combination.

Finally, as you are all aware, Japan has been hit with a 8.9 earthquake which has also caused a tremendous tsunami. My heart goes out to all of those there & for those who have loved ones in Japan. I was watching an entire special on TV about it last night. It made me cry :( Mother nature has made me awestruck. Nobody deserves to go through what the Japanese had to. Please text Red Cross to 90999 to donate $10 to Japan. Thank you.

God Bless,
Keri

  1. Hi Keri. Shiseido's White Lucent Brightening Balancing Softener Enriched looks really interesting. Contains lots of good ingredients. What is the consistency of the vitamin E oil and does it absorb well?

  2. @Fannie Yeah :] Vitamin E oil is about the consistency of a regular cooking vegetable oil. When applying it to your skin, it can feel greasy. If you're like me, and apply it right before bed, when you wake up it'll absorb into your skin. Yes, you can still feel it, but I always rinse my face in the morning too :]

  3. I wanted to love the Shiseido White Lucent line too but the alcohol dried out my skin. Glad to know it worked out so well for you.
